After more than 4 years, this popular workshop is on hiatus until a suitable teaching space is found. Please register your interest by joining the mailing list.

With no prerequisites other than a curious mind, this class is for anyone and everyone interested in learning more about letterpress. Perfect for art and book lovers, writers, designers and illustrators, no print experience required to attend. The full day workshop begins with a history of the letterpress and its unsung significance in modern digital life.

You will get your hands inky on ‘Gordon’ the 100-year-old newspaper press, ‘Maria’ the ‘Canon Pixma of 1952’ and ‘Bowie’ who is a large-format flower child of 1965. You will take home a swag of letterpress goodies that you have printed yourself, a thorough foundation of the role of letterpress in the information age and quite possibly, an insatiable thirst to know more.

Upon completion of this class, you may be eligible to utilise the Press for Hire Open Access Studio Program. Amy can also assist interested students in the provision of your own press.

IMPORTANT: Please be aware that cancellations and refunds are not possible, but you are allowed to swap into another class within the same Semester if done at least one month prior to the date of your booked class.
